High Court Allows Government to Grant Funds to Ultra-Orthodox Radio Stations

Israel's High Court of Justice has decided not to halt the transfer of funds to ultra-Orthodox radio stations, despite a petition arguing the move was made without a tender and during an election period. The court's decision allows the Ministry of Communications, headed by Minister Miki Zohar, to proceed with the funding.

The petition was filed by the Likud party, which argued that the funding allocation was politically motivated and bypassed standard procurement procedures. The ultra-Orthodox radio stations, which cater to a specific segment of the population, were set to receive significant financial support from the government.

Critics contend that such allocations during an election period raise concerns about the misuse of public funds for political gain.
