Former Trail Blazers Guard Justin Minaya Signs With Barcelona
FC Barcelona has signed American guard Justin Minaya, marking his first foray into European basketball. The 27-year-old, who stands at 1.93 meters, joins Barcelona as their eleventh summer acquisition, signaling a significant roster overhaul aimed at improving performance in the 2026/2027 season.
Minaya brings NBA experience, having played 57 games for the Portland Trail Blazers between 2022 and 2025, where he was a teammate of Israeli player Deni Avdija. In the 2024/2025 NBA season, Minaya averaged 0.9 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in just over five minutes per game. He also played for the Orlando Magic's G League affiliate in the 2025/2026 season, averaging 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
Minaya's arrival is part of a major summer "revolution" for Barcelona, following the signings of Josh Nebo, Justin Robinson, Oliver Nkamhoua, Omoijah Gibson, Agustin Ubal, Stanley Okoye, Oleksandr Bielousov, Tyreece Martin, Tosan Evbuomwan, and Yoan Makoundou.
