Gal Gadot Discusses Global Misconceptions About Israel
Israeli Hollywood star Gal Gadot recently appeared on the popular "Armchair Expert" podcast hosted by actor Dax Shepard. During the interview, Gadot shared amusing yet pointed anecdotes about the strange and mistaken perceptions people worldwide hold about life in Israel.
Gadot recounted her early experiences in the international industry when she first began representing Israel in overseas interviews. "It's crazy what people think about Israel," she stated. "They are convinced we ride camels, that the entire country is one big desert, and that people walk around the streets with M16 rifles, and that's really, really not the situation."
The comment sparked a humorous moment in the studio, with Shepard playfully responding, "Obviously not M16s, we ride donkeys and carry M4s." Gadot laughed and continued the lighthearted exchange, remarking, "You're much more chic, you're like cowboys! Leading herds and everything..."
She then returned to a more serious tone, recalling her younger self at age 20 trying to encourage people to visit Israel. "I was just a 20-year-old girl trying to tell everyone, 'Come to Israel, it's great here and fun here,' just like a young person her age representing her country would do. What else could I do?" she reflected.
