Young Student Opens School Year With Prayer for IDF Soldiers

Noam Yair, a student entering second grade at Nachalim School in the Merhavim Regional Council, became an emotional highlight of the new school year's opening ceremony. During an interview on "Israel Boker" alongside Regional Council head Shi Hajaj, Noam expressed his deep admiration for IDF soldiers and his eagerness to enlist.

When asked to offer a blessing, Noam chose to recite the "Mi Sheberach" prayer for the IDF soldiers, a moment that deeply moved viewers. The interview also featured Hajaj discussing the region's educational achievements, including a national education award, and noting that approximately 300,000 students in regional councils were returning to school. He highlighted the Merhavim council's resilience following the October 7th attacks, which claimed the lives of 19 soldiers and residents, and the opening of a new resilience center for students.

Noam's dedication extends beyond his support for soldiers; he is also deeply connected to religious studies, often speaking about the weekly Torah portion at his local synagogue. Hajaj described Noam as a unique child who not only loves to help but also shares messages of human love and kindness. Noam himself shared his passion for playing with toy guns and dressing up as soldiers, reinforcing his strong desire to join the IDF.

Hajaj further elaborated on the region's commitment to education, noting that over 50% of the council's budget has been allocated to education for over 14 years, contributing to strong student outcomes, including a 97% enlistment rate in meaningful IDF service among graduates. He expressed hopes for a quiet and productive school year focused on learning and instilling values, emphasizing the importance of resilience and well-being for students in the aftermath of the recent conflict.
