Election Official Orders Ben-Gvir to Respond to Lawsuit Over Children's Book Distribution

Central Elections Committee Chairman, Judge Noam Solberg, has ordered National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to respond by 6:00 PM to a petition filed against the distribution of his children's book at the entrance to educational institutions. The order comes just hours before the planned distribution of the book.

The petition was submitted by the Movement for Quality of Government in Israel, following a report by ynet. The movement is seeking an injunction to halt the distribution, arguing that it is not an innocent act but rather a political maneuver intended to convey messages to children. The petition claims the initiative aims to "turn hundreds of thousands of children into a link in the distribution network of their propaganda political messages," with the child themselves becoming a conveyor of the propaganda.

Ben-Gvir has been given until 6:00 PM to submit his response to the petition and the request for an injunction. The petition centers on the allegation that distributing the books to children constitutes using them to spread political and propaganda messages.

No decision has yet been made on the request for an injunction. Judge Solberg's directive requires Ben-Gvir's initial response, after which a decision is expected regarding the injunction request.
