Military Reporter Slams Critics of Channel 14 Over Netanyahu Satire Clip

A resurfaced clip from the Israeli satire show "State of the Nation" featuring Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu receiving a fanfare upon entering the studio has sparked a strong reaction from Noam Amir, the military correspondent for Channel 14. The video, originally aired in March 2014 when Netanyahu was a guest on the show hosted by Lior Shlein, depicts him being welcomed with trumpets by individuals in uniform.

Amir shared the clip on social media, responding sarcastically to criticism leveled against Channel 14 regarding its coverage of Netanyahu. "Are we a propaganda channel? Are we North Korea? A bunch of pathetic hypocrites," Amir wrote, implying that the past treatment of Netanyahu on other media platforms, like this satire show, was also notably celebratory.

His remarks appear to be a retort to accusations that Channel 14 exhibits biased, pro-Netanyahu reporting. Amir used the old "State of the Nation" footage to suggest that Netanyahu has received exceptionally festive treatment from various media outlets throughout his career.

Media personality Eliraz Sade commented on the perceived shift in media sentiment, questioning, "In which year was he good to them, and in which year did it stop?"
