Yinon Magal Warns Settlers Against Exploitation of Recent Events
Yinon Magal, a commentator on Channel 14, has urged settlers in Judea and Samaria to act responsibly in light of recent events, warning that media outlets are exploiting these incidents for a political campaign. Magal stated during his program "HaPatriotim" on Sunday that the media coverage primarily presents the Palestinian narrative while ignoring changes within the settlement movement.
"I am addressing my friends in the hills. They are exploiting your events for a political campaign. Please calm down, please calm down," Magal said. He asserted that "all the channels of panic, poison, clamor, despair, etc., are exploiting this and opening their broadcasts with it." Magal claimed that media reports predominantly feature the Palestinian version of events, citing an example from Channel 12 where reporters interviewed Palestinians in Qusra, portraying them as victims.
Magal also highlighted what he described as a "miracle" in the development of settlements in Judea and Samaria over the past four years, attributing this growth to the actions of figures like Bezalel Smotrich, David M. (Miki) Zohar, and Orit Strock, alongside Prime Minister Netanyahu. He noted the establishment of hundreds of new settlements and outposts.
Concluding his remarks, Magal reiterated his warning to the settlers, emphasizing the potential consequences of the current events on public and political discourse. "So take this into account. Do not take this lightly. Do not take this lightly," he urged.
