Israeli Spokesperson Debunks 'Siege' Claims Around Qusra Village

Azri Tobi, an Israeli spokesperson and resident of the Samaria region, has released an English-language video aimed at an international audience to counter narratives portraying events near the Palestinian village of Qusra as a 'settler siege.' Tobi argues that global media reports misrepresent the situation, framing it as settler violence and a blockade on Palestinian homes.

Standing on a hill overlooking Qusra, Tobi stated that the Jewish presence in the area is not solely based on historical or ideological claims but serves a vital security purpose. He emphasized the strategic importance of the location, which offers a vantage point over numerous Israeli settlements, asserting that control of this hill means control of the entire area. Tobi linked the security situation in Samaria to the October 7th Hamas attack, noting that the Qusra village council publicly supported the assault. He cited a statement from the council mourning 'martyrs' in Gaza shortly after the attack as evidence of the potential danger to Jewish neighbors.

Tobi further alleged that the expansion of Arab presence in the region is a deliberate strategy, supported by funding and political backing from Arab and European nations, aimed at land seizure. He claimed that the arrival of young Jewish individuals at the site was an effort to prevent this takeover. Following the raising of an Israeli flag, Tobi asserted, the area saw attacks on livestock, the planting of explosive devices, and attempted lynchings of Jewish youths.

Addressing the specific claims of a 'settler siege' on nearby homes, Tobi questioned the evidence, stating that the presence of Jewish individuals in a conflict zone does not constitute a siege. He concluded that the events in Qusra are part of a broader international propaganda campaign against Israel and Jewish people worldwide, comparing it to previous accusations such as starving Gaza, murdering babies, and genocide.
