Unity Party Faces Internal Rift Over Potential Gantz Alliance

Internal tensions are rising within Gilad Erdan's "Unity" party as reports of a potential merger with the center-right bloc intensify, with just ten days remaining before candidate lists must be finalized. Reserve Colonel Hezi Nehama, who recently joined Erdan's party as a security expert, has expressed strong reservations about a possible alliance with Blue and White leader Benny Gantz.

In an interview with "Good Morning South," Nehama stated, "I understand we are forced to make connections. Regarding Benny Gantz himself, you know, during the war I raised a flag for decisive action and against the changes the IDF underwent in the last 20 years, which I think he, when he was Chief of Staff, was one of the main leaders." Nehama, a prominent figure in the Reserve Commanders and Fighters Forum, further criticized Gantz for a perceived lack of accountability.

"To this day, I have not heard him express regret or take responsibility, which makes it very difficult for me to imagine this situation," Nehama added. These remarks come amid growing speculation and reports of intensive negotiations aimed at uniting forces between the parties to overcome the electoral threshold and present a unified slate for the upcoming elections.
