Ex-Coach's Lawyer Demands Soccer Club Condemn Fan Violence

The lawyer for former Bnei Sakhnin coach Sharon Mimer has sent a letter to the club demanding a public condemnation of a violent incident involving fans that targeted Mimer. The letter, sent by attorney Amir Cohen, also seeks answers regarding the club's response to the February 13, 2026 event.

According to the complaint, dozens of fans, some masked and carrying clubs, stormed the team's training facility during a practice session, calling for Mimer's dismissal. The training was halted, players and staff were sent to the locker rooms, and Mimer and his team were forced to shelter in an internal room for their safety. Police were called, and Mimer was escorted out of the city. Cohen claims Mimer filed the police report himself, while the club did not file a complaint, investigate internally, or issue a public condemnation, instead characterizing the incident as a "temporary and unpleasant situation."

The letter also addresses the club's documentation of the event. Mimer alleges that original video footage was edited and shortened by the club, presenting a partial and softened account. Cohen is demanding clarification on what footage the club possessed, whether original files were preserved, who authorized edits and why, what segments were removed, and if the complete recording was given to the police. The club is also instructed to preserve all original documentation.

Cohen questions why the club is not showing the same resolve against violence now that it did when Mimer was the target, why it didn't report the incident to the police, why no internal investigation was conducted, and how dozens of fans managed to breach the training facility. He emphasizes that "the fight against violence cannot be selective" and that a club advocating for its eradication must act with equal determination when fans are involved and the coach is the victim.

The club has three days to respond. Failure to do so may lead Mimer to forward all facts and documentation to the Football Association, the League Management, law enforcement, and the media.
