Electrical Fire Erupts in Bnei Brak Apartment Building, Residents Evacuated

A dramatic incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon in a residential building on Pardo Street in Bnei Brak, when an electrical cabinet on the first floor caught fire. The blaze quickly led to thick, black smoke filling the stairwell.

According to residents, the smell of smoke was first detected around 1 p.m., followed shortly by a power outage in the building. Within minutes, the stairwell was engulfed in heavy smoke, making it difficult for residents to exit their apartments. Some were forced to retreat to windows.

"There was a sharp smell of fire, suddenly the electricity went out and then crazy smoke started all over the building," one resident recounted. "It was impossible to go out into the stairwell because of the black smoke, and people fled to the windows."

Firefighters, Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics, and police responded to the scene. Several residents were evacuated from the building while firefighting teams worked to extinguish the fire and clear the smoke from the stairwell and apartments. The operation lasted approximately two hours.

Following the firefighting and ventilation efforts, power was restored to most of the building. The first floor, where the fire originated, sustained significant soot damage and a strong smell of smoke. Despite the considerable alarm and damage, the incident concluded without any injuries.
