London Appeals Court Upholds Ban on Palestine Action as Terror Group
A London appeals court on Monday backed the British government and upheld its decision to outlaw Palestine Action as a terrorist organization, ending the group’s legal activity in Britain. The court said the Home Office’s move was “proportionate” and “not unlawful.”
The judge noted that the ban and terror designation were “extremely controversial,” but said, “It would be a fundamental mistake to ignore the fact that the organization promotes unlawful violence equivalent to terrorism.”
The British government had proscribed the group in July 2025 after a series of violent incidents across the country. According to the article, the group’s main targets were Israeli defense companies, especially Elbit Systems, and commercial bodies it believed maintained ties with such firms.
The original Home Office move came days after Palestine Action activists attacked a Royal Air Force base and damaged two military aircraft. A month later, members broke into an Elbit Systems production site in Bristol, caused extensive damage, inflicted losses estimated at more than $1 million, and physically assaulted police officers who arrived at the scene.
