Israeli Digital Marketer Peleg Nisim Embraces Nomadic Life in Vintage Motorhome Amid Security Challenges

Peleg Nisim, a 29-year-old from Rishon LeZion, left her conventional career in digital marketing in September 2024 to live a nomadic life in an old motorhome. Despite a promising path in advertising, she felt unfulfilled and sought freedom on the road, traveling across Israel in her 1987 Fiat Ducato motorhome imported from Switzerland. Her journey has included challenges such as getting stuck in mud in the Galilee, escaping a sandstorm, sleeping in snow, and being forced to leave various parking spots due to local restrictions.

Nisim’s decision gained deeper meaning after personal losses during the war, including the death of a friend and the disappearance of another. She emphasizes living each day fully, appreciating nature, community, and freedom. Unlike the common caravan trailers in Israel, she chose a motorhome that integrates driving and living spaces, equipped with solar power, heating, and kitchen facilities to support her lifestyle.

Her travels have taken her from the Galilee to Eilat and Pardes Hanna, where she connected with spiritual communities and nature lovers. She adapts her locations based on security concerns, avoiding conflict zones and staying near friends or well-lit areas for safety. Despite the appeal of nomadic life, Nisim highlights the scarcity and high cost of designated caravan parking spots in Israel, criticizing authorities for limiting access and treating caravan living as a nuisance.
