Hadash MK Ofer Kasif Pledges to Support Gadi Eizenkot for Prime Minister to Replace Netanyahu

Ofer Kasif, a member of the Knesset from the Hadash party, announced in a Thursday interview on Radio Haifa that his party will recommend Gadi Eizenkot for the position of prime minister. This move aims to replace the current prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Kasif's statement aligns with a broader coalition strategy, as Ayman Odeh, another Knesset member from the Joint List, which includes Hadash, Ta'al, Balad, and Ra'am, previously emphasized that their primary goal is to end Netanyahu's tenure. Odeh stated that they will support whoever has the best chance to unseat Netanyahu based on polling data.

Earlier the same day, retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter addressed rumors suggesting he might endorse Avigdor Lieberman for prime minister. Winter clarified that he would only recommend Netanyahu, although he and his party are not bound to any candidate. In a related development, the Shas party issued a vehement response to a decision by the Attorney General, highlighting ongoing political tensions surrounding the prime ministership.
