Netanyahu Releases AI-Generated Video Portraying Political Rivals as Trojan Horse

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has released another politically charged video created using artificial intelligence. The video depicts former military chief Gadi Eizenkot and politician Avigdor Lieberman inserting a wooden horse labeled as the "Government of Israel," inside which Mansour Abbas and Yair Golan are hidden. This imagery is intended to suggest that Eizenkot and Lieberman are attempting to covertly bring Abbas and Golan into the government, likening it to a Trojan horse.

However, the video’s artificial nature has drawn significant attention. The characters appear unnatural, with awkward movements and an overall look that resembles a computer-generated clip rather than authentic footage. This is not Netanyahu’s first use of AI to convey political messages; his campaign has repeatedly employed digitally created figures and scenarios instead of real images or footage.

While the use of AI technology itself is not unusual, the increasingly artificial appearance of these videos undermines their effectiveness as serious propaganda tools. In this instance, although the Trojan horse metaphor is clear, the artificiality of the video risks overshadowing the intended political message. Ultimately, Netanyahu aimed to criticize Eizenkot and Lieberman, but viewers are more likely to focus on the AI aspect than the message itself.
