A significant rise in Jewish immigration from France to Israel is underway, driven by escalating antisemitism and deteriorating personal security in French cities, particularly Paris. According to i23NEWS, the number of French Jews making aliyah has surged from 718 in 2023 to a projected 1,663 in 2025, marking a 131% increase. This growth has elevated France to the third-largest source of immigrants to Israel, following Russia and the United States, with French immigrants now comprising over 14% of total aliyah.

Residents of Paris report growing fears in public spaces, especially on public transportation. One local described avoiding speaking Hebrew in the metro due to safety concerns, though feeling less threatened on the street level. Neighborhoods that once housed vibrant Jewish communities have seen dramatic declines; for example, a district that previously had around 60,000 Jewish residents now has fewer than 6,000.
