UEFA Champions League Confirms 32 Teams for 2026/27 Season Group Stage

The lineup for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League group stage has been finalized following the completion of all playoff matches. Thirty-two teams will compete in the prestigious European tournament, now in its third season under the new format. The official group stage draw is scheduled for tomorrow at 6:00 p.m., where the matchups for the eight rounds of the league phase will be determined.

The top-seeded pot features Europe’s elite clubs, including reigning European and French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), German champions Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Italian champions Inter Milan, Manchester City, English champions Arsenal, Spanish champions Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. The second pot includes strong contenders such as Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Roma, Aston Villa, Real Betis, Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, Portuguese champions Porto, and Belgian champions Club Brugge.

The third pot comprises teams like Fenerbahce, Feyenoord, Lille, Napoli, Leipzig, Villarreal, Shakhtar Donetsk, Boda Glimt, and Galatasaray. The fourth and lowest pot includes Sabah (rivals of Israel’s Hapoel Be’er Sheva), Slavia Prague, Stuttgart, Como, Lens, LASK Linz, Viking Bratislava, and AEK Athens. Each team will face two opponents from each pot over eight rounds.

The eight group winners will advance directly to the round of 16, while teams finishing 9th to 24th will enter playoffs to compete for the remaining eight spots in the knockout stage.
