Former Israeli Officials Clash Over Security Leadership and Hamas Funding Allegations

Former Israeli Defense Minister Matan Kahana and a candidate from the Yashar party aligned with ex-IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot have sharply criticized former IDF General and Amcha Israel party leader Ofer Winter. The dispute escalated after Winter opposed Eisenkot's remarks that he would block Winter's appointment as Defense Minister in a future government led by Eisenkot.

Kahana highlighted that six months after Eisenkot left his post, a warning was issued about money being transferred to Hamas, but the transfer was not stopped. He also noted that Winter continued serving in the IDF for five years after Eisenkot's departure and was part of the system Winter now criticizes, including during the events of October 7, 2023.
