On Monday, actor and comedian Orel Tsabari used his Instagram account to vent anger over the regional security situation after seeing a news headline about a new international "deconfliction cell" in Lebanon. The reported arrangement was said to have been agreed by the United States, Iran and Lebanon, with mediators including Qatar and Pakistan involved, but without Israel being included or consulted.
Tsabari, who is usually known for humor, impersonations and upbeat energy, told his hundreds of thousands of followers that the exclusion made him furious. He asked, "When will they stop selling us 'agreements' or fancy names like 'deconfliction cell' and not let us be part of their stupid conclusions?" He added, "They keep walking all over us and pissing on us and expect us to think it is rain."
In a later story, Tsabari framed the issue as part of a historic pattern of antisemitism, saying, "This is the same old antisemitism dressed in new forms. Jews are not allowed to win wars, we are not included. Enough, we have a country and it is time for the state to stand on its hind legs." He ended by questioning how such a deal could make sense if Israel was left out, and concluded with a curse toward its architects.
