Former Israeli TV Star Navit Sitbon Embraces Religious Life While Continuing Acting Career

Navit Sitbon, who rose to fame as a fresh graduate of the Nissan Nativ acting school starring in the 2007 Israeli TV hit "Touching Distance" on Channel 2, has undergone a significant life transformation. At the height of her early career, working alongside notable actors like Henry David and Yevgenia Dodina, Sitbon began exploring religious teachings, inspired by Rabbi Yemima Mizrachi. This spiritual awakening led her to adopt a religious lifestyle, marry, move to the settlement of Efrat, and raise four children.

Despite the challenges posed by her religious observance, including restrictions on physical contact with men, Sitbon found new artistic depths in her acting. She recounted performing in a play by Yehoshua Sobol where she conveyed intimacy without physical touch, demonstrating how religious boundaries enhanced her craft. She also acted in Avi Nesher's recent film "Our Loves," portraying a mother of a survivor of the Nova Kitchen massacre, a project marked by intense focus and emotional gravity following Nesher's personal tragedy.
