Firefighters Contain Blaze Near West Bank Farm Following Stabbing Attack

Firefighters have gained control over a fire that broke out near the Derech Avraham farm in the West Bank, the site of an earlier stabbing attack. The victim, Itamar Cohen, the farm's owner, was stabbed at the location earlier in the day. Emergency teams from the Samaria regional fire station were dispatched around 11:00 AM and found the fire spreading in open terrain toward the farm.

Firefighters worked alongside volunteers, IDF troops from the Samaria Brigade, and local farmers to contain the blaze. Zion Shenkor, the Judea and Samaria district fire and rescue commander, stated that they responded robustly with numerous ground forces and aerial support, considering the weather and terrain conditions. He confirmed that control over the fire was recently achieved and that firefighters will remain on site with reinforced forces to continue extinguishing efforts as needed.

Simultaneously, fire investigators from the Israel Fire and Rescue Services and the Judea and Samaria police district have launched an investigation into the fire's cause. The incident is being treated with urgency due to its connection to the earlier terror attack and the potential for further escalation.
